Pittsfield Boys Settle for Tie Against Agawam
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Agawam boys soccer team Thursday scored with 1 minute, 30 seconds remaining in the match to earn a 1-1 tie against Pittsfield High at Kirvin Park.
Mikey Hernandez scored with an assist from Armando Correas late in the first half to give the Generals a 1-0 lead.
“I thought we dominated most of the game and held them to opportunities outside the box,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “Defensively, we were really sound with making sure we weren't much if anything inside our own 18 yard box.
“It was unfortunate to give up a goal so late into the game like we did, but I’m really proud of everyone's efforts throughout the game.”
Reese Cook-Dubin made 10 saves in Pittsfield’s goal.
The Generals (2-2-1) go to Amherst on Tuesday.
