Pittsfield Boys Double Up Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Quinn Schaller scored a pair of goals Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to a 4-2 win over Amherst-Pelham.

 

Schaller opened the scoring with a goal in the 30th minute with an assist from Mikey Hernandez.

 

He then gave the Generals a 2-0 lead three minutes into the second half with a goal set up by Carlos Lagos.

 

After the Hurricanes got on the board to cut the margin to one, Lagos and Armando Correas each scored to open up a 4-1 Pittsfield lead.

 

Amherst cut its deficit to two in the 78th minute.

 

Reese Cook-Dubin stopped 11 shots for the Generals, including a penalty shot late in the first half to preserve the 1-0 lead.

 

Pittsfield (3-2-1) hosts Northampton on Thursday at Kirvin Park.
