Pittsfield Boys Fall to Hamp

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Northampton boys soccer team scored two minutes into the match and went on to a 3-1 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park on Wednesday.

 

“We started slow to start the game for the first 15 minutes, we called a TO and we started playing better soccer,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “We didn’t concede many good opportunities for Northampton in or around our box. They mainly took advantage of us on set pieces where they are extremely dangerous.”

 

The Blue Devils were up, 2-0, at half-time and led by three goals midway through the second half before Mikey Hernandez scored an unassisted goal for the Generals in the 74th minute.

 

Reese Cook-Dubin made six saves for Pittsfield.

 

The Generals (3-3-1) host Mount Greylock on Saturday evening at BCC.
