Chicopee Boys Score Late to Down Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Chicopee boys soccer team scored with just more than two minutes left to play to take a 3-2 win over Pittsfield on Friday afternoon.
The Generals were down, 1-0, at half-time but got goals from Quinn Schaller in the 42nd minute and Armando Correas with 10 minutes left to take the lead.
But the Pacers needed just 19 seconds to tie it, setting the stage for the game-winner in the final moments.
“I’m proud of how the team played today,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “I loved the resilience to fight back into the game and take the lead. Really unfortunate to walk away with a loss today but we move on to the next game and continue fighting.”
Pittsfield (6-6-2) goes to Northampton on Monday.
