NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- It probably wasn't the outcome it expected, but the Drury girls' soccer team was still happy to walk away with a 1-1 tie with Lee on Friday.

The Blue Devils had beaten the Wildcats 3-0 in the first game of the season, but Lee moved the ball better the second time around and got some very solid goalkeeping from Cam Biasin and Sara Middleton, who combined to stop 18 of the 20 shots Drury took in the game. Overall, the Blue Devils outshot the visitors 20-9 on the day.

With the draw, Drury moves to 4-4-3 overall and stays undefeated in South Division play with a 4-0-2 mark.

"We outshot Lee, but their goalie made some great saves in the first half," Blue Devils head coach Molly Meczywor said. "We had trouble finishing in this one."

Juniors Danielle Racette and Ali Tatro led a Drury defensive effort that allowed just an unassisted goal from MaryCate Holmes five and half minutes into the second half. Racette was a force at sweeper, while Tatro came through with eight saves in goal for the Devils. Junior Cori Ghidotti ensured the tie for Drury by scoring off a beautiful cross from senior Mariah Ferrara in the 63rd minute. It was Ghidotti's sixth goal of the season, leaving her just one shy of Ferrara for the team lead in that category.

The Blue Devils next play at Mount Greylock at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
