NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Madison Saunders scored in the 80th minute Wednesday to give the Drury girls soccer team a 1-1 tie with Hopkins Academy.

Hopkins scored a goal in the second minute of the game, and the teams went back-and-forth the rest of the way before Saunders was able to get the equalizer.

“Neither team had many good scoring opportunities as both defenses were solid in turning back attacks,” Drury coach Maria Bartini said. “Both coaches agreed that a draw seemed like a fair result for such an evenly matched and well-played game.”

Brooke Bishop made five saves in the Drury goal.

The Blue Devils (10-1-1) go to Hampden Charter on Friday.
