Balanced Scoring Lifts McCann Tech Past Taconic

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Three McCann Tech girls soccer players scored two goals apiece Tuesday as the Hornets blanked Taconic, 6-0, on Opening Day for both teams. 
 
Alayna Bishop, Zoe Kratz and ninth-grader Lanie Ameen each found the back of the net twice in the win.
 
Lily Genton helped out on two of those goals.
 
“Excellent and encouraging start to our season,” McCann Tech coach Lindsay Lincoln said. “I am incredibly proud of how we executed in every single phase of the game today, especially for our first game of the season. We played with heart, and we played for each other.”
 
Bella Lefevre stopped four shots to earn the win in goal.
 
McCann Tech (1-0) hosts Springfield Central on Thursday.
 
Taconic (0-1) is off until Monday when it travels to face Hampden Charter.
