Central Pulls Away from McCann Tech Girls in Second Half
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Lucia Grimaldi had a hat trick, and the Springfield Central girls soccer team exploded for five second-half goals en route to a 7-3 win over McCann Tech on Thursday.
“It was a 2-1 game at halftime but we dealt with some adversity because of player illness and injuries, we hung tough, scored some beautiful goals, and played through until the end,” McCann Tech coach Lindsay Lincoln said.
Emmalie Wood scored a pair of goals, and Zoe Kratz found the back of the net once for the Hornets. Colbie Crouse made one assist in the loss.
Bella Lefebvre and Dakota Hurlbut combined for 15 saves in the McCann Tech goal.
The Hornets (1-1) host Springfield International Charter on Monday.
