PALMER, Mass. -- Maybe the McCann Tech girls' soccer team was a bit bus-lagged in its game against Pathfinder on Tuesday afternoon. Whatever it was, the Hornets weren't looking good down 1-0 at halftime. Mike Dowling's club regrouped at the break, however, and found the back of the net four times in the second half to earn a 4-2 win on the road.

Junior forward Alexa Durant got McCann (5-2-1) on the board 14 minutes into the second half, scoring off of a feed from classmate Mary Nguyen, who then gave the Hornets a 2-1 lead by scoring her own goal less than seven minutes later. Nguyen was set up by junior Alex Lincoln, who continued the assist-to-goal scorer trend by striking with her own tally five minutes later.

The Pioneers' Casey Roman cut the visitors' lead to 3-2 with a strike in the 72nd minute, but sophomore Jocelynne Smith answered right back a minute and 40 seconds later by scoring off a pass from by senior Brittany Briggs.

Senior Becky Daniels stopped 10 shots in goal to earn the win for McCann, while Nina Sumulynas made 13 saves in a losing effort for Pioneer.

The Hornets next host Franklin Tech at 4 p.m. on Friday.
