PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The McCann Tech girls' soccer team had the day off of school for Columbus Day on Monday. The Hornets also had an off day on the field, suffering their worst defeat of the season in a 6-0 road loss to Saint Joseph's.

The Crusaders (4-5-1) scored three goals in each half, led by a hat trick from junior Bailey Vinette and a big day by Emily Carnevale, who added two goals and an assist. Vinette scored her first goal off a pass from Reagan Smith (two assists) in the ninth minute of the game. She then netted the first hat trick of her career by scoring her team's final two goals of the match, the final one coming with two minutes left in the game.

It was a tough day for the Hornets, who previously lost 6-2 to the Crusaders in the third game of the season. McCann (7-4-1) was outshot 21-7 in the game and was unable to get the ball past St. Joe's keeper Kendall Smith (four saves). Senior Becky Daniels stopped 11 shots in goal for the Hornets.

McCann next welcomes Renaissance for a 4 p.m. game on Tuesday.
