Carpenter Leads Eagles Over Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Gwen Carpenter scored twice Wednesday to lead the Mount Everett girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Taconic.
 
Carpenter started the scoring with an unassisted goal in the second minute of the game. She added an insurance goal in the fourth minute of the second half.
 
Taconic (2-2) got on the board when Jenna Bateman set up Jill Scussel, but Madison Ullrich (15 saves) kept everything else away from the goal.
 
Brooke Mangiardi stopped 10 shots for Taconic, which hosts Pittsfield on Friday at Taconic High School.
 
Mount Everett (4-0) hosts Lenox on Wednesday.
