Mount Everett Girls Shut Out Lee

SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Chevelle Raifstanger scored one goal and assisted on another Tuesday as the Mount Everett girls soccer team defeated Lee, 2-0.
 
Raifstanger scored an unassisted goal in the first half. In the second half, Raifstanger set up Hudah Ngoy Nkulu for a goal on a corner kick that started with a service from Emily Steuernagle.
 
“The girls came out today after not having played since last Monday and took a little while to get going but once we found our rhythm everything was clicking,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. :The defense is really playing much better as of late and locking down any opportunities which I am glad to see from them.”
 
Emma Goewey made four saves to earn the shutout in goal.
 
Bella Lovato made nine stops for Lee (1-4), which hosts Gateway on Thursday.
 
Mount Everett (3-1-1, 3-1 Pioneer Valley South) goes to Pioneer on Thursday.
