SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Mount Everett’s Chevelle Raifstanger scored in the 39th minute to register the first goal allowed this fall by the Drury girls soccer team and earn a 1-1 tie for the Eagles.

“Drury came out today on fire and applied quick pressure on our midfielders and defense, getting the early goal,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “We lost track of [Jacinta Felix], who beat us to the ball for the first goal.”

Hailey Kingsley assisted on Saunders’ goal in the third minute.

Raifstanger converted a direct free kick in the closing minutes of the half to knot the score.

“The girls played well the first half and weathered a lot of runs Drury was making,” King said. “The defense did what they had to do to slow them down and ended the game in a stalemate. Good game overall by both squads and you can see the hunger in how hard the players played today.”
