CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Melissa Swann scored twice in the last eight minutes to give the Mount Greylock girls soccer team a 3-3 tie at Hoosac Valley on Wednesday.

Hoosac Valley (2-4-1) broke a 1-1 tie at half-time with goals from Claudia Bresett and Carah Cote. Chloe Martel set up Cote for a goal in the 61st minute to give the Hurricanes a 3-1 lead.

"I think after the second goal we mentally took a break and did not play as hard as we had been," Hoosac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said. "For us to give up two goals in the last eight minutes and tie the game, shows we need to stay mentally tough for 80 minutes."

Swann scored in the 72nd minute to cut the lead in half and again with four minutes left to tie it.

Back in the first half, Hoosac's Bresett gave her side a 1-0 lead before Mae Burris-Wells answered for Mount Greylock (3-4-1).

Tenley Smith made eight saves for the Mounties, who travel to face Drury on Friday.

Kailynne Frederick made five saves for the 'Canes, who host Pittsfield on Monday.
