Jamros' OT Game-Winner Lifts Hoosac Valley in Western Mass Tourney

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Sydni Jamros scored late in the first overtime Tuesday to give the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team a 2-1 win over Palmer in the first round of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
 
Jamros converted an assist from Kayley Winn to send the eighth-seeded Hurricanes (8-4-7) into the quarter-finals, where they will meet No. 1 South Hadley (17-0-1), which had a bye through the first round.
 
Hoosac Valley struck first in regulation, getting a goal from Shaleigh Levesque to take a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute.
 
Palmer (11-5-3) responded with a goal by Olivia Coughlin, and it stayed 1-1 through regulation.
 
Gabby Billetz earned the win in goal for the Hurricanes.
