Wahconah Girls Top McCann Tech

DALTON, Mass. -- Marleigh White scored two goals Saturday to lead the Wahconah girls soccer team to a 7-0 win over McCann Tech.
 
Olivia Gamberoni had a goal and an assist, and Vienna Mahar, Emma Belcher, Anna Doyle and Kathryn Perrone each scored once.
 
"Marleigh has really come along in the last couple games, causing some damage up front and providing pressure to defenses," Wahconah coach Maggie Rivers said.
 
"Solid defensive effort from Brody Kaley, Emma Belcher and Dani Barry leading from the back helping us keep our shape."
 
Edrie Collins and Adelyn Furlong split time in goal for Wahconah, combining for seven saves.
 
Keira Lennon stopped seven shots for the Hornets.
 
"McCann played hard the whole time never letting up," Rivers said. "They definitely tested our defense and applied pressure to our keepers."
 
McCann Tech (3-1) goes to Commerce on Tuesday.
 
Wahonah (1-3) hosts Agawam on Tuesday.
