DALTON, Mass. -- Anna Doyle scored in the second half Thursday to give the Wahconah girls soccer team a 1-1 tie with Chicopee Comprehensive.

The Colts' Taryn Carriveau scored on a diagonal run in the first two minutes to open the scoring.

In the second half, Olivia Gamberoni set up Doyle for the equalizer.

"We continued to battle for the next 40 minutes, putting the pressure on their keeper," Wahconah coach Maggie Rivers said. "She made several key saves for them, and we missed several opportunities down the stretch. The whistle blowing at the end with a missed corner kick opportunity for Wahconah.

"Our defense swallowed up most of their offensive opportunities. I can only describe our play as relentless as we battled and fought for 80 minutes. Earning nine corner kicks, 16 shots on goal, and Mo Donoghue for Comp making 10 saves."

Edrie Collins made seven saves for Wahconah, including on a second breakaway try by Carriveau in the first half.

Wahconah (3-6-3) goes to South Hadley on Tuesday.
