Mount Greylock Wins on Drake's Hat Trick

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Tanley Drake Thursday scored three times to lead the Mount Greylock girls soccer team to a 3-0 win at Monument Mountain.

The first goal came off an assist from defender Rowan Apotsos in the seventh minute.

Five minutes later, another defender, Maria Welch, set up Drake for her second tally.

She then completed the hat trick in the 24th minute.

“The game was a back and forth affair in the first half with both Monument and Mount Greylock defended well, and neither team generated too many clear chances on goal,” Monument Mountain coach Sean Flynn said.

Noemi Evans made three saves in Mount Greylock’s goal to earn the shutout.

Anneliese Hocker made nine stops for the Spartans.

Before the game, Monument Mountain recognized Mercedes Raifstainger for registering her 100th point with the program the last time out at Wahconah.

The Spartans (2-5) host Hampshire Regional on Saturday, when Mount Greylock (8-0-1) visits Northampton.
