WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Despite controlling a majority of the play and possession, the Mount Greylock girls' soccer team couldn't find the back of the net in a 1-0 home loss to Mount Anthony on Saturday.

Neither team could get on the board until the 65th minute, when a defensive breakdown in the middle of the field allowed the Patriots' Shelby McLenithan to score off of a pass from teammate Rebecca Romac. Despite some steady defense by sophomore Lucy Barrett and solid goaltending by Margot Besnard (six saves) and Charlotte Rand (three saves), the Mounties (1-1-1) were unable to keep the visitors in check the whole game.

Greylock head coach Tom Ostheimer said his team possessed the ball well but was unable to finish around the goal. The Mounties hope to find their scoring touch in time for their next game, a South Division showdown with Hoosac Valley at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
