PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A pair of goals in the second half was just what the Hoosac Valley girls' soccer team needed in order to earn a 3-1 victory at Saint Joseph's on Thursday.

The Hurricanes (2-0) stayed undefeated on the young season thanks to goals by junior Megan Rodowicz in the 51st minute and Cecily Malloy in the 69th minute. After allowing a goal to the Crusaders' Cate Bean just two minutes into the game, Hoosac keeper Megan Richardson (nine saves) kept the hosts off the board the rest of the way to earn her second straight win.

Malloy made the sure the 'Canes didn't trail long, scoring the first of her two goals on the day eight minutes in to tie the game at one goal apiece.

After two South Division wins to start the season, Hoosac faces another tough league opponent with a road game at Mount Greylock on Tuesday. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
