BENNINGTON, Vt. – Abby Wong scored a pair of goals Tuesday to lead the Pittsfield girls soccer team to a 7-0 win over Mount Anthony Union in the Generals’ season opener.

Madison Stetz had a goal and an assist, and Sophia Schnackenberg and Reece Albano each set up a pair of goals in the dominating win.

“We pressured all over the field, all game,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “We moved the ball effectively inside and out as well. Very strong start. Huge credit to our captains Madison, Kyana [Summers], Kara [Wong] and Harolyn [Castillo] for setting a great tone during preseason and all of our seniors in working hard to continue to build a strong culture based on our team values.”

Summers, Amelia Weibreicht, Nora Hammil and Madi Pope each scored a goal.

Castillo made four saves to earn the shutout win in goal.

Pittsfield (1-0) hosts Drury on Friday.
