PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Harolyn Castillo made six saves, and the Pittsfield girls soccer team Monday played the top-ranked Division 5 team in the commonwealth to a scoreless draw at Kirvin Park.

“We played really well today against a fast, physical team,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said after the 0-0 tie against Granby. “I am so happy with our aggressiveness and approach to 50/50 balls and our defense was outstanding.

“Harolyn moved effectively throughout the box and Kyana Summers, Bre'Jai Ellerbee, Ava Palmer and Hannah Dalton were exceptional in stopping offensive threats.”

Pittsfield (8-5-3) learns Tuesday whether it earned a spot in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament. The Generals entered Monday as the eighth-ranked team in the class.

Pittsfield already has qualified for the Division 3 State Tournament.
