Pittsfield Girls Soccer Raises Funds for Hescock Foundation
PITTSFIELD, Msss. -- The Pittsfield High girls soccer team this month donated more than $1,400 to the Jake Hescock Win the Day Foundation.
The Generals generated donations through sponsorships for a November penalty kick-athon.
A portion of the money the team raised is being used to get CPR training for the student-athletes.
The rest was donated to the foundation in a ceremony at the school attended by Jake's mother Carey.
"Community service means volunteering your time and talents to help others and improve your community," a team member told Hescock during the ceremony. "Our team is proud to have partnered with The Jake Hescock Win The Day Foundation to promote basic life support training, learning CPR and AED skills as well as offering Heart Screenings."
