PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Monument Mountain came into the game against Pittsfield on a two-game losing streak, while Pittsfield had won five straight. Both streaks continued as the Lady Generals (6-0-1) defeated the Lady Spartans (1-3-0) 5-0 on Thursday night.

Sophomore Amanda Wright scored in the 9th minute, assisted by junior Kara Alfons, to give Pittsfield an early lead. The pin-point passing was just too much for Monument as in the 10th minute Wright scored again, this time unassisted.

It was hard for Monument to gather much of a threat as Pittsfield continued to dominate play with their excellent passing. Junior Aleah Sangiovani took a pass from junior Allie Supranowicz to score the third goal for Pittsfield.

Monument Mountain stiffenned on defense but in the 64th minute Sydney Deluce scored unassisted and in the 78th minute Courtney McLaughlin got in on the scoring taking an assist from Trinity Cookis. Freshman Allie Hunt of Pittsfield saved five shots. She has only given up one goal in seven games.

Pittsfield will travel to Hoosac Valley on Monday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m. while Monument Mountain will play at Lee, also on Monday but at 6 p.m.
