Monument Mountain Tops Lenox on Senior Night
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Mercedes Raifstanger scored twice and set up a goal Friday to lead the Monument Mountain girls soccer team to a 4-1 win over Lenox.
The Millionaires struck first when Jane Elliot converted an assist from Lauren Bridges.
But Mabel Cooney tied it for the Spartans with an assist from Lucy Dohoney.
And Raifstanger put home the eventual game-winner before the end of the half with an assist from Gabby Mora.
In the second half, Dohoney set up Raifstanger to make it 3-1, and then Raifstanger returned the favor with an assist on Raifstanger’s goal to close out the scoring.
“I'd like to recognize and thank Mabel Coooney (captain), Isabella Havens, and Emma Nicolaus for a strong effort and team play on their Senior Night,” Monument Mountain coach Brian Jarvis said. “It was nice to see us all come together and enjoy this wonderful night. Having their families there experiencing this special evening was fantastic. The Monument Mountain Girls Soccer Booster Club always does a great job showing their love and support.”
The Spartans (5-10) finish the regular season at Hoosac Valley on Saturday morning.
Lenox (3-10-2) hosts Taconic on Monday.
