Lenox Downs Springfield Central

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Jane Elliot had a hat trick, and the Lenox girls soccer team scored five goals in the first half on the way to a 5-1 win over Springfield Central on Tuesday.

Cate Welch set up three goals, and Claire Welch finished with two assists.

Fiona Ward and Hadley Herman each scored a goal in the win.

“Lenox played so well and every single girl was into the game,” Millionaires coach Nicole Gamberoni said. “From the bench to the girls on the field, everyone was encouraging each other and working hard.”

Audie Tresp played a strong game in goal, Gamberoni said. Her shutout bid was spoiled when Central converted a corner kick in the 68th minute.

Lenox (7-7) is at Drury on Friday.
