LENOX, Mass. -- Aliza Munch scored one goal and assisted on the other as the Lenox girls soccer team defeated Chicopee, 2-0, on Monday.

The game-winner came in the eighth minute, when Munch converted a long punt from keeper Ella Hall, who earned an assist on the play.

With 10 minutes left in the half, Munch set up Solia Herndon-Schmid for an insurance goal.

"The entire second half was just a battle," Lenox coach Brian Seminara said. "Being down two goals, Chicopee took some more risks offensively sending numbers forward, and luckily our defense and midfield was up to the task.

"Our work-horses in the midfield Jenny Collins, Rihana Patel, Medeja Rudzinskaite, Mary Elliot, and Maddi Digrigoli really made the difference, oftentimes being outnumbered."

Hall made eight saves to earn the shutout win in goal.

Lenox (5-2) takes a three-game winning streak into Wednesday's game at Northampton.
