LENOX, Mass. -- Mary Elliot scored one goal and assisted on two more Saturday to lead the Lenox girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Hopkins Academy in the Division 5 State Tournament Round of 32.

Elliot scored the game-winner with an assist from Molly Knight 31 minutes into the game, and the Millionaires scored three times in the final 23 minutes to put the contest out of reach.

“The majority of the game was played in the middle of the field with perhaps a few more shots coming from Lenox,” Lenox coach Briand Seminara said. “With 10 mins left in the half, Mary Elliot scores off a free kick from Molly Knight. Start of the second half, Lenox came out all fired up, firing shot after shot and wave after wave of offensive attack. Finally a few insurance goals came in.”

Jenny Collins, Aliza Munch and Knight each scored a goal in the second half.

Munch split time with Ella Hall in the Lenox goal, combining for four saves to get the shutout win.

“It was definitely a bit more physically demanding game than we were hoping for, but luckily our girls took some adjustments we made at half time and came out hard,” Seminara said. ”Big congrats goes to our midfield who started working together to lock down their attack.”

Sixth-seeded Tuesday will host either Mount Everett or West Boylston in the octofinals. They played their game in the Round of 32 later on Saturday.
