Lee Edges Taconic in Five Sets

LEE, Mass. – Madison Heath Tuesday put down 14 kills to lead the Lee volleyball team to a five-set win over Taconic.
 
Alexis Masten pulled up 29 digs and delivered six kills in the 19-25, 25-18, 26-24, 22-25, 17-15 win.
 
Hannah Achurra had eight kills while serving a team-high four aces and pulling up 18 digs. Kassidy Clark had 16 digs and passed out 33 assists.
 
Angelese Ward Green was a force on the front line for Taconic, finishing with 13 kills and five blocks. Ella Stodden had a double-double with 24 assists and 10 digs.
 
“I'm so proud of how well we played tonight, especially how well we played defense,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “These kids really have mastered our defensive scheme as far as being where they are supposed to be.  Our offense was more aggressive than usual, and we swung really well.”
 
Taconic (5-10) hosts Drury on Wednesday.
 
Lee (8-5) hosts Lenox on Friday.
