PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Megan O’Bryan recorded seven kills Saturday to lead the Wahconah volleyball team to a four-set win over Taconic.

O’Bryan also served a pair of aces for Wahconah, which won the first set with ease but then faced a dogfight the rest of the way, prevailing 25-10, 32-30, 19-25, 25-23.

“I'm not gonna lie, I was really worried after that first set,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “But we were able to regroup, let go of that set, and play some real volleyball.

“Wahconah is the strongest team that we have faced so far this season and we really took it to them. When you look at the set scores you can see that we made Wahconah earn their win.”

Eva Jacinto had six kills and two aces for Wahconah, which got seven aces, seven digs and a pair of assists from Sasha Fyfe.

Taconic was led by Janayah Jones with seven kills and a pair of blocks to go with two aces.

Jadyn Galliher and Nevaeh Williams finished with six kills apiece.

“Setters Ella Stodden and Nevaeh Williams also filled the stat sheets for the Thunder, while Libero Natalia Dos Santos pulled up 23 digs,” Lance Fyfe said.

Taconic (2-2) goes to Monument Mountain on Tuesday.
