Senior Setter Stodden Hits Milestone in Taconic Win

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – A clutch win, a milestone, a rivalry game, Senior Night – the Taconic volleyball team had it all on Friday night.
 
Ella Stodden reached the 1,000-assist mark for the Thunder in a three-set win over Pittsfield that kept alive Taconic’s state tournament hopes.
 
Stodden finished the night with 22 assists in the 25-18, 31-29, 25-18 win.
 
“Tonight was our Senior Night, and we only played our seniors,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “They didn’t disappoint.”
 
Sophie Aubin had a team-high 11 digs and served four aces.
 
Lexi Murphy Malloy had a strong all-around game with six kills, five digs, five aces and a block.
 
Fernanda DeSiqueira registered six kills and four aces, and Angelese Ward-Green had seven kills and a block.
 
Taconic (7-9) won its second match in a row heading into Monday’s home match against Monument Mountain.
 
Pittsfield (5-10) is at Mount Everett on Monday.
