Wahconah's Taea Cunagin has been named to the all-state team by the Massachusetts Volleyball Coaches Association.

Cunagin was named to the group's Division 3-4-5 team, joining an elite group of 54 student-athletes across the commonwealth that represents 1 percent of all the girls volleyball players in Massachusetts this fall.

Cunagin is the only Berkshire County player recognized this year and one of just four honored from Western Massachusetts, joining Division 2's Maliha Daubon of Minnechaug and Angela Humble and Chloe Scott of Longmeadow.

"These all-state players are the best of the best in our state,” said Roger Anderson, president of the MAVCA. “Their contributions to the game through their play, leadership and role modeling leave an indelible mark on our sport in the state of Massachusetts.

"The MAVCA Board of Directors congratulates each and every one of them on this honor and we look forward to celebrating these amazing student-athletes at our All-State Showcase."

The MAVCA Showcase is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. at Westborough High School.
