Mount Greylock Wins on Back-to-Back Nights

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Julia DeChaine served a pivotal second-set run that sent the Mount Greylock volleyball team on to a three-set win over Pittsfield on Tuesday.
 
Celina Savage had 17 kills for the Mounties in a 25-18, 25-12, 25-19 win.
 
After the first set ended on a Savage kill to end a long rally, Pittsfield went up, 10-7, early in the second.
 
It was 11-8, Generals, when DeChaine (three kills, five aces) got the ball. She served 12 straight points to give Mount Greylock command. Kelsey MacHaffie (three kills, four aces) served the last four points to win the set.
 
Kylie Sweren passed out 25 assists to direct the Mount Greylock offense.
 
"We had a great match [Monday] night against Longmeadow but also had a lot of attack errors,” Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. “Today our attack efficiency was much better overall and it will be nice to have a practice day after playing Friday, Monday and Tuesday."
 
Hailey Rumlow had three kills to lead Pittsfield, which got seven assists from Rachelle Harrison and seven digs from Camila Sebastian.
 
The Generals (2-1) host Wahconah on Thursday.
 
Mount Greylock (5-0) goes to West Springfield on Thursday.
