WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Olivia Perez had a double-double Saturday to lead the Mount Greylock volleyball team to a sweep of Wareham in the first round of the Division 4 State Tournament.

Perez put down 13 kills and passed out 10 assists to lead the Mounties to the 25-20, 25-16, 25-23 win.

Perez had a complete game for twelfth-seeded Mount Greylock, serving five aces and recording four blocks as the Mounties, a 2023 state champion in Division 5, began their first state tourney since moving up to D4.

“"I am very proud of this team's resilience and work ethic, and it is great to win what is possibly our last home game of the season,” Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. “There were several extremely long rallies with great digs and saves today.

“Great to see the effort on Homecoming Weekend. This is a young team that is growing every day and we look forward to next week.”

Tyanna Lepicier pulled up 15 digs and delivered eight kills, and Anna Garnish had seven digs and a pair of aces.

Cecelia Keough had eight digs, and Kalegh Jaros passed out 15 assists to go with five digs.

Mount Greylock (12-6) will travel to face No. 5 Rockland, a 3-0 winner over Westport on Saturday, in the Round of 16 on a date to be announced.
