Mount Greylock Wins Five-Set Match on Senior Night

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Mount Greylock senior Olivia Perez recorded 12 kills Tuesday in a five-set win over Taconic.

Perez also had two blocks and two digs in the 23-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-15, 15-11 win.

“The hustle of the Taconic defense is non-stop,” Mount Greylock coach Faith Wehner said. “They make you work hard for every point. Throughout the night, we had to adapt constantly, changing our shots and strategies to overcome the effort put in by Taconic.”

Gracelyn Cormier had 10 kills, Kiara Burston passed out 13 assists, and Isla DiMassimo pulled up 14 digs for the Thunder.

Tyanna Lepicier put down nine kills and served five aces in the win for Mount Greylock.

Senior Cecelia Keogh had five kills and four aces as the Mounties celebrated their Senior Night.

“I’ve got six really incredible seniors this year,” Wehner said. “All of them show up ready to work hard, pushing each other to be the best versions of themselves and constantly supporting each other. They will be missed dearly next year, but I can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the rest of this season.”

Mount Greylock (10-2) hosts Pittsfield on Thursday.

Taconic (9-6) is at Lee on Thursday.
