SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Ella Saupe recorded eight kills, and the Monument Mountain volleyball team Tuesday came back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 3-2 win over Mount Everett.

Heidi Saupe served 12 aces for the Spartans in the 22-25, 26-28, 25-18, 25-12, 16-14 win.

Riley Coach passed out 12 assists, and Jade Abderhalden and Lily Khalsa had strong nights with six kills and six aces, respectively.

“We had our backs up against the wall in the first two sets, but we figured out a way to bring the energy level back up and reverse the momentum,” Monument Mountain coach Rick Saupe said. “The final two sets came down to the wire, but the girls just never gave up. Many of them were playing in unfamiliar positions, but they eventually just figured out a way to make it work.”

The Spartans (5-8) travel to face Taconic on Thursday.
