Mount Greylock Girls Dominate

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Mount Greylock girls cross country team showed its dominance over a four-team field at Reid Middle School on Wednesday.

 

Nellie Swabey placed first overall with a time of 21 minutes, 23 seconds and led a pack of nine Mounties in the top 10.

 

Her teammate, Josephine Bay was second in 22:10, and Mount Greylock took the top six spots before Pittsfield’s Sophia Lamalfa crossed the line in 23:26 to place seventh.

 

Mount Greylock’s girls easily took wins in its two dual meets.

 

The meet’s closest race on the girls side was between Taconic and Wahconah with the Thunder earning a 24-31 win.

 

Shelby Tart led the Taconic girls with an 11th place finish.

 

Lamalfa’s finish helped the Pittsfield girls earn a 12-point win over Taconic in their dual meet.

 

The closest race of the meet was between the Wahconah and Taconic boys, who were separated by just four points.

 

Noah Wesley’s second place finish for Wahconah led his team to victory. Taconic got a seventh-place finish from Quinn Ives.

 

Six of the top 10 spots were held by Mount Greylock, who took a pair of dual meet wins behind Patrick Holland’s third-place showing.

 

The fastest boy on the course at Reid was Pittsfield’s Cohen Zahn, who finished in 17:36 to edge Wahconah’s Wesley by five seconds.
