Western Mass Tournament Pairings Set in Volleyball

The Lee High volleyball team will begin its quest for a fourth straight Western Massachusetts Division 3 final with a home game on Monday against an opponent to be announced.
 
The Wildcats were installed as the sectional tournament’s top seed and received a first-round bye when brackets were released on Tuesday.
 
Lee is one of five Berkshire County teams who qualified for post-season play.
 
The Wildcats (16-2) will face either No. 8 South Hadley (12-6) or No. 9 Mahar (13-7) in the quarter-finals. The Tigers and Senators will play in the first round on Thursday.
 
Two county teams also will be in action on Thursday while two others wait until Friday to play their first-round games.
 
In Division 2, Pittsfield (14-6) earned the ninth seed and will go to No. 8 Ludlow (12-8) on Thursday evening.
 
In D3, No. 10 Wahconah (10-8) will be on the road Thursday at No. 7 Easthampton (12-6) for the right to take on defending champion and second-seeded Frontier (10-8) in the quarters.
 
On Friday night, No. 3 Lenox (15-4) and No. 5 Mount Greylock (13-6) hit the floor.
 
The Millionaires are home against Pioneer Valley Christian (10-10), the lowest seed in the tournament at No. 14.
 
Mount Greylock will host No. 12 Sabis (10-10) at 6:30 on Friday evening.
