Lee Falls on Road in State Tournament

DOUGLAS, Mass. -- Lee senior MaKayla Schuerer Tuesday ended her high school volleyball career in style with a triple double in a four-set loss to Douglas in the Division 5 State Tournament's Round of 16.
 
Schuerer had 14 assists, 10 aces and 23 digs for the Wildcats.
 
Douglas advanced to the state quarter-finals with an 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21 victory.
 
"I am incredibly proud of this group of athletes and how we played both throughout the season and in tonight’s match," Lee coach Julia Warner said.
 
"While this marks the end of our season, we are a young team who can learn a great deal from the experience of a competitive post-season game. I’m looking forward to what is to come for our young players."
 
Autumn Schwab recorded 32 digs for Lee, which got 24 digs and five kills from Karalynn Hopkins. Kayla Clark finished with 20 digs.
 
Lee finishes the season with a record of 12-10.
