Lee Bowlers Take 2-1 Win, Stay in Second Place

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Emily Holian and Devin Fillio Friday led the Lee High bowling team to a 2-1 win over McCann Tech to secure the Wildcats' spot in first place in the Berkshire County High School Bowling League.
 
Holian rolled the day's best game and best series among the girls in the league with a 234-165--399. Fillio had the second-best game (184) and series (325) for the girls.
 
McCann Tech was led by Michael Oakes with a 361 series.
 
At the top of the league's standings, Pittsfield earned a 3-0 win over Monument Mountain to secure the No. 1 position.
 
Once again, Ryan Russo was on fire for the Generals, recording the season's best game (248) and series (459) in the six-school league.
 
Russo was backed up by teammate Matt Dupuis with a 220-185--405.
 
The Spartans' Noah Walker recorded a 221 game, second among the boys on Friday at Cove Lanes.
 
Friday's other varsity match saw Taconic take a 2-1 win from Mount Everett behind Mitch McCann and Kyla Croshier.
 
McCann rolled a 214 game and 374 series for the Thunder. Croshier had a 175 game and 306 series.
 
This Friday, the league heads to North County for its first meet of the season at Greylock Bowl and Golf in North Adams.
 
Varsity standings: 1. Pittsfield, 16-2; 2. Lee, 14-4; 3. McCann Tech, 10-8; 4. Taconic, 9-9; 5. Mount Everett, 4-14; 6. Monument Mountain, 1-17.
