Lee Takes Over First Place in League, Taconic in 2nd

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Luzis Brown rolled a 400 series Friday to lead the Taconic bowling team to a 2-1 win over McCann Tech in the second week of the Berkshire County High School Bowling League.
 
Brown rolled a 219 game on his way to the highest two-game series of the week at Cove Lanes.
 
His teammate Danielle Mathes recorded a 200 game and 391 series to help the cause for the Thunder.
 
McCann Tech's Reilly Lefebvre was five pins behind Brown with a 395 series.
 
Lee and Monument Mountain each picked up 3-0 wins on Friday as the Wildcats took over sole possession of first place in the league standings.
 
Devyn Fillio and Nate Terry led the way for Lee.
 
Fillio's 235 game and 408 series each led the league's girls. Terry rolled a 248 game that was best among the boys in action at Cove.
 
They helped Lee pull out a 3-0 win over Pittsfield, which was led by Jamari Carnute with games of 182 and 189 for a 371 series.
 
The Spartans picked up their first points in the league standings with a 3-0 win over Mount Everett. Mason Bailey's 220 game was the second best among the boys for the Spartans.
 
Finn Vion led the Eagles, rolling a 211 game and 372 series.
 
The league has two meets this week, Wednesday at Cove and Friday in its first stop at K&M in Pittsfield.
 
First-place Lee will face second-place Taconic on Wednesday.
