Lee Tops Taconic to Break First-Place Tie

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Maddie Kotek and Devyn Fillio Wednesday led the Lee bowling team to a 3-0 win over Taconic as the Wildcats took sole possession of first place in the Berkshire County High School Bowling League.
 
Kotek's 236 game and 403 series were the best among the league's girls at Cove Lanes on Wednesday.
 
Fillio was right behind her with a 188 game and 314 two-game series in the battle for first place.
 
Taconic got a 226 game and 444 series from Luzis Brown. Abby Bliss rolled a 173 game, and Danielle Mathes had a 314 series for the Thunder.
 
Monument Mountain, meanwhile, edged McCann Tech, 2-1, to firm up its position in fourth place in the six-team league.
 
The Spartans were led by Steve Woodard, who rolled the year's best game (279) and best series (484) in the league.
 
Mason Bailey backed up Woodard with a 222 game and 437 series.
 
In the third varsity match at Cove on Wednesday, Mount Everett earned its first points of the year with a 3-0 win over McCann Tech despite a 224 game and 412 series from the Hornets' Reilly Lefebvre.
 
The league returns to action on Friday at King Pins in North Adams.
