Lee Golfers Win Western Mass Title

SOUTHWICK, Mass. -- Lee High's Devyn Olds carded a 6-over-par 78 to tie for medalist honors and lead the Wildcats to the team title at the Western Mass Division 3 Championships on Monday at The Ranch Golf Club.
 
Olds tied for top honors with Turners Falls' Ryan Lenois, who was playing as an individual.
 
Lenois qualified for the state tournament as an individual, as did St. Joseph's Cody Tynan, who carded an 86.
 
In the team race, Lee finished with a combined 345 to edge second-place Monson (353) for the crown.
 
Lee's other scores were supplied by Thomas Frasier (85), David Belanger (90) and Bryce Whalen (92). Hunter Roosa and Colin Finnegan also competed for the Wildcats.
 
McCann finished sixth in a nine-team field with a score of 392. Bradley Tatro and Brian Boudreau led the the Hornets with rounds of 93 apiece. Cole Kratz carded a 96, and Ryan Meehan finished at 110.
 
Lenox placed eighth with a score of 400. Kevin Coakley and Ricky Armstrong led the Millionaires, each carding a 98.
 
Division 1
 
WILBRAHAM, Mass. -- Pittsfield finished sixth, and Taconic came in eighth at the Western Massachusetts Division 1 Championships on Monday at the Country Club of Wilbraham.
 
East Longmeadow won the team title with a score of 336, beating runner-up Agawam by four strokes.
 
East Longmeadow's Noah Peterson and Connor Piecuch finished first and second with scores of 6-over-par 78 and 9-over 81, respectively.
 
Agawam placed three golfers in the top eight.
 
The top Berkshire County finishers were Pittsfield's Kevin Quinto and Taconic's Mike Kays and Brett Murphy, who each carded an 86.
