Lee's Fraser 11th After Day 1 at American Junior Golf Association Event

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Lee High sophomore Thomas Fraser is tied for 11th place after one round at the American Junior Golf Association Preview at Waubeeka Golf Links.
 
Fraser carded a round of 8-over 79 to finish the first day four strokes behind co-leaders Brendan Frain of Sudbury and Matthew Conti of Walpole.
 
The event drew 61 boys and 15 girls from throughout the Northeast United States plus a few international players from as far off as Windsor Locks, Ontario, and Bogata, Colombia.
 
Fraser is one of three Berkshire County high schoolers competing in the event, which concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
 
Pittsfield’s Kevin Quinto is tied for 39th place at 86. And Mount Greylock sophomore Ben Gilooly is in 58th place after carding a first-day 94.
