The Mount Greylock and Wahconah volleyball teams are seeded first in their respective Western Massachusetts tournament fields according to the standings released on the Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference website on Monday afternoon.

Mount Greylock pulled down the top seed in Class D and will host Pioneer Valley in the quarter-finals, according to the latest standings.

Class D also includes Lee, which is ranked No. 3 and gets a home match against No. 6 Athol in the quarters, and Lenox, which is ranked No. 5 and travels to No. 4 Mohawk Trail for a berth in the regional semifinals.

Class B top seed Wahconah will face No. 8 Pittsfield in the quarter-finals of their eight-team tournament. Monument Mountain is seeded sixth in Class B and heads to Paolo Friere in the quarter-final round.

In Class C volleyball, Taconic is the lone Berkshire County representative. It checks in at No. 3 and will host Springfield International Charter.

The District 1/PVIAC post-season will include five classes of soccer tournaments this fall.

The Hoosac Valley boys and Mount Greylock girls are the highest seeded Berkshire County soccer teams in the region.

The Hurricanes are seeded No. 2 in Class D, which means a home game in the quarters against No. 7 Smith Vocational. The Class D field features an all-Berkshire matchup in the first round, where NO. 6 Drury travels to No. 3 Lenox.

Everyone else is on the road in the boys tournament.

In Class B, No. 5 Monument Mountain is at No. 4 Hampshire Regional, No. 6 Wahconah is at No. 3 Chicopee Comp, No. 7 Taconic is at No. 2 South Hadley, and No. 8 Pittsfield is at No. 1 Belchertown.

In Class C, Mount Greylock’s boys are seeded fifth and head to No. 4 Easthampton in the quarters.

Mount Everett’s boys are seeded fifth in Class E and will head to Pioneer Valley in the first round.

McCann Tech’s boys were ruled ineligible for the Western Mass tournament because they played one too many games in the regular season. The Hornets will get a game this week against a non-qualifier or quarter-final loser and will be eligible for next week’s state tournament.

In girls soccer, four Berkshire County teams grabbed home games in the quarter-finals, led by the second-seeded Mounties in Class D. Mount Greylock will host No. 7 Springfield International Charter in the first round.

The Class D field includes three other Berkshire County teams. No. 6 Hoosac Valley will open the post-season at No. 3 Lenox. No. 5 Drury is at No. 4 Palmer.

In Class B, No. 4 Monument Mountain will be home in the quarters and will have a rematch with No. 5 Wahconah; the two teams tied, 2-2, on Saturday night in Dalton. Pittsfield is seeded sixth in Class B and goes on the road to play No. 3 Hampshire Regional.

The McCann Tech girls are seeded seventh in Class C and will go to No. 2 Pope Francis in the first round.
