McCann Tech's Vallone Wins State Championship

AUBURN, Mass. -- McCann Tech’ Brandon Vallone Sunday won the Massachusetts boys bowling state championship at AMF Auburn Lanes.
 
Vallone beat Assabet Valley Tech’s Nate Purchase, 234-212, in the championship match.
 
The McCann Tech senior averaged 238 in his five games on Sunday, including a high of 269.
 
He was one of two Hornets to reach the finals on Sunday.
 
His McCann Tech teammate Aleasia Yeaton, who rolled a high game of 191 in the tournament, advanced to the championship match, where she fell to Worcester Tech’s Mia Stolakis.
 
Stolakis, who was named the MVP of her team’s run to the championship in Saturday’s team competition, defeated Yeaton, 217-171, to claim the individual crown.
 
Mount Greylock’s Taylor Callahan and Wahconah’s Amber Wood also advanced to the playoffs in the girls’ individual tournament.
 
McCann Tech’s Chris Bostwick, Lee’s Adam Dingman and Wahconah’s Alex White reached the knockout round in the boys’ tourney.
