Moran, McCann Tech Harriers Sweep Opening Meet

ADAMS, Mass. – Camryn Moran led a 1-2-3 sweep for the McCann Tech girls cross country team Tuesday as it earned three wins in a four-team meet at Greylock Glen.
 
Moran finished in 24 minutes, 40 seconds to lead the pack and teammates Kamilia Kondei (26:51) and Amy Harrington (29:03), who were second and third, respectively.
 
McCann Tech’s girls handily beat Hampden Regional, 16-47, and earned the minimum score of 15 points against St. Mary’s and Smith Vocational, which did not have a full complement of runners.
 
McCann Tech’s boys also beat Hampden and St. Mary’s but dropped a 24-31 decision to the Vikings of Smith Voc.
 
The Hornets’ Brandon Miller was the first one across the finish line, clocking a time of 20:16, nearly 2 and a half minutes ahead of runner-up Connor McMahon of St. Mary’s (22:44).
 
Joshua McGrory (26:07) was fifth and Tucker Wirtes (26:38) was eighth for the Hornets.
 
McCann Tech hosts Pope Francis next Tuesday.
