Mount Greylock Tennis Players Compete at Western Mass Individuals

LONGMEADOW, Mass. -- Mount Greylock's Mia Patrick Sunday bowed out in the quarterfinals of the Western Massachusetts individuals tennis tournament.
 
Patrick advanced with a pair of straight set wins on Saturday, beating St. Mary's Brooke Piziak, 6-1, 6-1, and Springfield International Charter's Kymora McKenzie, 6-0, 6-0.
 
On Sunday, she ran up against Longmeadow's Sarah Tiru in the round of eight, and Tiru prevailed, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Patrick was one of three Mounties in the individuals tourney.
 
Her teammate, Emily Ouellette won by default in her first round match to get to the round of 16, where she fell to Lenox's Rory Lenehan, 6-1, 6-2.
 
In the boys tournament, Mount Greylock's No. 1 Oscar Heeringa fell to Ludlow's Ryan Gomes, 6-2, 6-2, in the first round.
