McCann Tech Harriers Open Year at Frontier

SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. – Frontier’s Evan Hedlund and Louise Flogollet each placed first to lead their teams to victories over McCann Tech and Easthampton in a three-team season-opening meet on Wednesday.

 

Hedlund covered the 2.75-mile course in 14 minutes, 56 seconds to win the boys race. Flogollet hit the tape in 19:56 to win the girls race.

 

Frontier’s boys won by scores of 16-47 over the Hornets and 20-38 over Easthampton. Easthampton beat McCann Tech, 17-42.

 

The Hornets boys were led by Tucker Wirtes, who placed eighth with a time of 18:54.

 

McCann Tech’s Kamilia Kondel (21:44) and Aliza Rozon (22:45) finished ninth and 12th, respectively, behind Flogollet’s winning time of 19:56.

 

Frontier’s girls won their two dual meets by scores of 15-44 over McCann Tech and 16-43 over Easthampton. The Hornets girls ran the day’s most competitive team race, falling to Easthampton, 21-38.

 

McCann Tech is at Turners Falls next Wednesday.
