UXBRIDGE, Mass. – Gabe Thomas Monday finished tied for 26th place as an individual to lead the McCann Tech golf team to a seventh-place team finish at the Division 3 State Championships at Blissful Meadows Golf Club.

Old Rochester won the event behind a pair of 5-over-par 77s by Luke Pierre and Jack Czerkowicz, who tied for third place.

Seekonk’s Aidan Connell won the individual championship with a 2-over 74.

The Hornets, as they have all season, performed well as a group, with all four of their scorers finishing with a 90 or better.

Nolan Booth finished one stroke behind Thomas, carding an 86. Landon LeClair finished at 87, and Kale Kondel rounded out the scoring with a 90.

Mason Rondeau and Nick Varellas also represented McCann Tech in the 88-player field.

Kondel finished with a pair of birdies, breaking par on the 325-yard, par-4 first hole and 373-yard, par-4 17th.

LeClair birdied the 312-yard, par-4 seventh hole.

The Hornets finished right in the middle of the 12-team field and ahead of ninth-place Montachussett RVT and 12th-place Athol, the other two qualifiers out of the Western Massachusetts Sectional two weeks ago.
